Hi, i recently posted a thread about my AMD 5000+ x2 Brisbane core cpu concerning the idle temp being around 35-37 and was this normal. Apparently all brisbane core cpu's on-die temperature sensors are broken or faulty so i'm not sure what to do, AMD has said this is temp is normal but will send me an RMA. If you responeded to my last post could you please tell me where you took you temperature readings from for your cpu, as all temp utilities in windows will be lower then the bios reported temp for your cpu. I'm not sure what to do or if this could be a motherboard problem, for example if i remove my wireless dongle my gigabyte EasyTune cpu temp monitor drops 3 degrees and another few degrees if i close my firewall etc, down to 31 but if i go into the bios it's still 36-37.
35-37 is fine, my last CPU idled at 40C, it's nothing to worry about, it's the load temperatures tha matter.
Thanks for your reply, i'll put my mind at rest over it now, just lots of people had lower temps with the same chip, just want to get on with using my new computer.
Power consumption of that device alone will be small, I think there must be a device driver flaw that's causing over the top processor usage, and as such it isn't really 'idle' at all...
