I have an AMD SEMPRON 3000+ and i would like to overclock it to 2.4 ghz is it possible to do it ? i hear that sempron can overclock easy to 400 fsb i got kingston valueram PC3200 2 gb (1gb x 2) and ati 9800 pro 128 mb with asus a7n8x-e deluxe
ummm.... i got it to 2.4 ghz now at 1.70voltage but the degree is i dont like is running at 66~68 is that good or no ? does anyone know what is the max of the temperature... thanks
No way, that is not a safe temp. If you are going to OC you need exteme cooling both case and cpu. Everyone here will agree that the Thermaltake Volcano 12 is the best air cooling fan for cpu. Gotta get those temps down. Also, what type of ram are you using? A low latency ram is best for OC'ing. Lower the better.
o so I should get a new heat sink ? but after i overclock with 1.70voltage it still crash and i restart the temp is 69 ~ 71. My Cpu-z status is at http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=28526 the kind of heatsink im using is right now http://shop2.outpost.com/product/3998818?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG running with artice sliver 3 AMD Sempron 2405.45 MHZ Overclocked~1.70voltage still crashes ATI 9800 pro 128mb ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe Coolermaster: HAC-L82-U1-XDRE, X Dream II, Athlon XP Cpu Cooler Kingston ValueRam DDR400 PC3200 2gb (1gb x 2)
Those temps are pretty high and may be the cause of crashing. Your heatsink and fan are no better than stock. OC = heat = bad. I use the volcano twelve and my cpu temp doesnt go above 52c while playing BF2! 39c at idle. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106035
thanks but are you really suRe if i get that Volcano 12 thingy it won't crash ? Isn't my coldermaster is pretty good ? LOl
O alright thanks then i might get it later on like next weeek. by the way how much would it be for a good price?
