I am looking to build a little better system for my dvd ripping, burning, and gaming but not real sure as to what processor to get. I have heard alot about the AMD sempron 3100+ and its overclocking ability but I also like how the P4 and dual channel memory can access different parts of the memory at the same time. My brother in law has usually helped me decide on what to get but he is a P4 guy all the way and my friend and his dad are pushing me toward the sempron. Anyone have there own opinions that might sway me one way or the other??
Also I dont want to go too much over $1,000. I already have a monitor but still need cpu, motherboard, memory, hard drives, video card, case/fan.
