Here's my problem. I have a v 1.1 spiderchip, and a V 1.0 xbox. I put the spider chip as directed by instructions and connected the D wire to the via. The blue light comes on on the chip, but the xbox will only boot up like it would without a chip in it. It doesn't bring up the cromwell bios. Any ideas?
yeah your chip is not seated correctly on your motherboard... tighten or loosen the screw or press down on the chip make adjustments to its alignment, thats the issues with the spiderchip its really easy for them to become unligned, once you get it working again do yourself a favor and softmod it.
In your case in particular it would mean that you wouldn't need to keep adjusting that spiderchip everytime you touched your Xbox. You get the same advantages basically as a chip except you won't need to open your Xbox. I made a disc that you can download from a few websites if you download it, you would just need to ftp into your Xbox and change out your folders and your Xbox would then be softmodded after doing that you could then just open up your Xbox and take out your Spiderchip. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/339661
