I have this prob when writing songs to my iPod, Most of my songs appear in the artist category but some refuse to show up in this specific category, i know it might sound like an extremely small problem but its real convenient for me to just select the artist and have all the song listed also some songs do not show album art when others with the same album art do if anyone knows of a way to fix this or if anyone is experiencing the same problem plz post here. ps : i have made sure that the song info includes the correct artist's name, so thats not the problem
Infectus, hello & welcome to the iPod forums. Firstly, I suggest you restore your iPod unit back to factory state, and reload it's content. Check this link for info on how to restore.. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
Thanks i know how to restore but will that really help and if i do will all my files be deleted? i really dont want to lose over 2000 files
the files will be deleted, but you can load them back on with itunes. to answer youre first question, i know what it might be. if the artist name of the songs isnt exactly the same (ex. tupac, 2pac) then it wont show up as the same artist, or if it features other artists (ex. 2pac feat. dr. dre, 2pac) if that makes sense
Yea it makes sense but thats not the problem that was the first thing i checked, thanks anyway il just leave it as it is its not worth spending all that time reloading the files
It doesn't take any of your time to load songs back on. If you have you're iPod set for "auto update" then it will do it on its own, just may take up your ipod using time, depending on how many songs/videos you have. ;-)
Yea well thats kinda not the problem, i have about 40gb already taken up on my ipod, my pc's harddrive is full and i dont have any external harddrive big enought to back up the data, so basically i have 2 choice's, just deal with the problem or lose all or most of my data. i think its wise to go with the first choice
So long is the contents of your iPod are still on your PC, you should have no need to back your data up. Just restore & reload - no additional HDD space needed.
