"Another application is preventing DVD playback " Error Msg

    Hi All,
    I get the above msg when I try and play a DVD on my Toshiba DVD-ROM drive.
    It was working fine before I re-installed Win98.
    So assume something went wrong there (?)
    Does anyone know how I can fix this problem ?

    You didn't say what program you were using to try to play it with, but I remember hearing about the WinDVD software player having the same error. I think the display had to be set to 16 bit color for it to work right.

    A quick search shows the same thing happening on Cinemaster players too, you might want to check out that link to see if their suggestions fix your problem.
