I've just begun investigating the variety of software available. This forum has been extremely helpful! Initially I was going to ask which of the software is the simplist to use and offers broadrange features. That was initially... having read through many posts, I'm thinking the consensus is there are different opinions. So let me ask this: What are anti pirating codes and do all programs like DVDFab etc. put in anti- pirating tracking codes? Thanks!
I think you have a misconception here..... you call it anti pirating codes...... do you mean encryptions that stop programs from copying the DVD? So programs like AnyDVD, DVDFab and others break the encryptions that stop you from copying DVDs. So programs like DVDFab etc. put in anti- pirating tracking codes?.. no they break the encryptions that make copying possible.
It's very possible I'm misunderstanding things! I think I understand the basic encryption\decryption concept of these DVD copy programs. What caught my eye was when I was looking at the 1Click DVD program and one of the 'features' was "No warning messages or anti-piracy tracking codes added". I was wondering about this and what it means. It sounds like their program doesn't add some sort of tracking which might enable someone to see that the DVD was copied and infers that others do. Is this something I should have any concerns about? Thanks for your reply, Lily
wolf_lily , I think you may be getting a little paranoid there on no tracking codes on any DVD or software to backup the DVD
Hey I figured if Walmart could put tracking chips in clothes... well anything is possible! LOL Thanks for setting me straight.
I wonder if the "Chipster" is out of jail yet, I remember contributing to his soap on a rope fund raiser three years ago, never heard from him again....
wolf_lily, i believe "1-click's" msg may have been refering to msgs like the old ver.s of progs like "x-copy" which would diplay a warning of sorts any time you would use their sortware to back-up a movie. the copied movie would say something to the effect...."this is an archival back-up..........blah, blah, blah.....", and would allow you to make only one single copy(no duplicates from the burned disc). i"m sure it turned some people off to their products,........so, 1-click made it a point to mention that their prog had no such limitations. don't let it bother you. "BIG BROTHER" is'nt watching your back-ups. LOL!!!! CHEERS
narcismo, Thanks for the further clarification. Having come into the dvd copying world rather 'late' I wasn't aware of what the earlier programs did. I was even thinking that some of the copying software could 'tag' the copied DVD so that if someone decided to sell the copies it could eventually be traced back to your computer! LOL.. I believe you and others are correct i.e I think perhaps in these days of 'big brother' meddling in ones privacy, I got a little carried away to include DVD copies! Thanks for your reply! Lily
