Hi, I'm a new poster to this site. I've been visiting to find out how to backup my movies and have found an enormous amount of help on this site. I just upgraded my computer however and am having problem finding antivirus software that will work with it. Is there anyone that knows of anyone supporting the 64-bit OS's yet? I would prefer Norton, even though it's probably not the best it's what I prefer. Thanks ahead of time for any help. If this is in the wrong place I apologize as I couldn't really find another forum that it actually fit in. :)

Well when I try to install Norton it won't allow me to even start. Gives a message that says it's not optimized for 64-bit or something like that and finishes at that point, without installing anything.

Also, the AVG program doesn't work as well. I get this error message:

Local machine: prepared for the installation
    Initialization:
Error: 64-bit Windows are not supported in this build.

Guess I'm going to have to buy one or something. Don't really have the money for it now though.

There are only a few choices from what I have read, but they are out there.

Avast antivirus pro 4.6.603 or home version 4.6
    Clamwin
symantec corp antivirus 10 64-bit version
    Bit Defender 8
    Nod 32 has a 64bit. Version 2.51.8
Both "AVG Plus Firewall 7.1" and "AVG Professional 7.1" are fully compatible with Windows x64 operating systems (Free version is not)

Hope one of these is good for you, if you don't want to spend cash then Avast or Clamwin are the way to go.
If you do want to spend cash then I personally would go for NOD32, but I've not tried any of these under 64bit.

    Hope it helps.
