Hey everybody, I just had a quick question. I am really into recording bands live in my house but i want to step up on the quality and wanted to know if anyone knows the names of programs and equipment I can use to hook up to my computer and record each member and his instrument in his own channel so I can then put everyone together at the end or if the bass needs fine tuning I can fix just the bass without altering anybody else from the band. I know this is not a typical question but if anybody out there can lend me a hand I'd really be greatful.

    Thanks, laters

For ten plus years Pro Tools has been the industry standard in audio studio recording as well as audio post production for TV and film.

Basic MBOX 2 channel in/out systems start at ~$500, then a 002 system of 8 channels in/out at 24 bit 96 Khz is ~$500. They both come with Pro Tools LE which has up to 32 audio tracks and 99 midi tracks.
