Are the embedded? that means inside the video, not a seperate .srt file or whatever,then probably no.
If the subtitles are enbedded in the movie, they cannot be removed and that's it. If they are in a separate file, simply delete the file. If they are embedded as a subtitle stream in a MPEG2 file, they are only played on DVD or SVCD players, and they are switchable so you usually you do not want to suppress them.
