hi guys, i guess i'm in the market for a tv tuner card and i've never owned one so i wanted some advice... Is there any brand/model that I should definitely purchase over all the others? I have an ATI 9600XT 128MB video card and was thinking about sticking with ATI to buy the tuner also, but I heard that hauppauge is very good too... please tell me which one i should go with, or another brand/model that is even better then these 2...

    thanks alot

Nothing is better than the Hauppauge PVR line, except maybe the 550Pro cards.
What's your source video (OTA, cable, sat)?
What's your purpose (burn to dvd, PVR)?

thanks for the response... right now I just want to be able to record TV shows that I'm not at home for... depending on whether I like the quality, and performance of the card, and of course the show, I maaay put them on DVDs... not sure yet, but I would like to have that option. I have Analog comcast cable, and satellite (dishNetwork)

To record from 2 sources you'll need a dual card. The PVR-500, or two PVR-150's.
Quality is tuneable, from VCD to DVD, depending on filesize. Respectable quality at 5000kbps, to overkill at 12000kbps.

    rebootjim,
thanks for ur suggestions, I saw some really good reviews for the PVR-150 so I think that's what I will get this weekend! :D

btw, I think u misunderstood me when i said i have both analog cable, and satellite... I do have both, but I wont be recording from both, most likely the dish... so one pvr-150 should be more then enough... neway its not important, i really appreciate ur input! thx
