    Today I went to burn a few new movies. I opend Anydvd and the Clonedvd2 as I always do. I put the DVD into the gsa-5163 external and went throu the steps when I came to the step were you check yhe vts-o in clone, I checked it and then hit OK. Well a box came up and This is what it had to say.
    Clone dvd2.This dvd is copy-ptotected.
    Clone dvd2 is not for use in copying protected dvds.
    Many DVDs are css encoded, which is a copy-protection file system. If a DVD is CSS encoded, then the reader will refuse to access the disc. Therfore Clone DVD2 cannot read the file and make a copy!
    To anyone who can help me with this,I will be greatful. I have burned over a 100 dvds with these two programs without any trouble and don`t know what is wrong.I think maybe something is wrong with ANYDVD, but cannot say what.Can someone please HELP. You can read the statement above and maybe come up with a soulation..

    Thanks Andy

    Start anyDVD, insert the disc to be copied, allow anyDVD time to remove the copy protection then start cloneDVD. I've used both numerous times without any problem. If that doesn't work uninstall anyDVD, reboot, then re-install.

    @ireland,
    Well I got every thing back to normal, I unstaled,and reinstaled,and every thing is good,sorry it took so long. I was busy burnnnning, HA HA . The one thing I noticed was ,now it wants me to put the new version in. 5.5.5.1.Wasn`t that what cause the break down, or Was I the only one to have some trouble. Is it OK to install the new version..

    @9mmruger1,
    Well now I have 555.1, and it is working. I did my burns last night with the old one, but changed this morning. Let me ask you one more question, This might be the wrong section to ask in,but here it goes. I have a External LG-GSA-5163D,hooked up to my laptop,I set the booktype and burn a few movies,every thing comes out alright. When I get done and take a break,and shut the computer down.A couple hours latter, I turn it on and burn, Well I then get a COASTER.I would like to Know >Do I have to set the BOOKTYPE on the External whenever I re-start my computer, Or is there something I can do to keep the booktype set to DVD-ROM.and not have to worry about makeing coasters anymore. I have done this Three times now and want to stop getting Coasters. Do I have to reset the booktype every time on the laptop,or is there a way to set it and not have to worry about makeing coasters???

    Thank You
    Andy

    @hollandoh

    I have not found a way to permanently set the booktype on my LG as of yet. What I do is put a blank media in the DVDRW drive and open DVDdecrypter. I wait til decrypter recognizes the disc and then use the change booktype method. This will keep the booktype set to DVD-ROM until I reboot the system.

    If done, the LG burner does not care which program I am burning with, decrypter, imgburn, or CloneDVD2, they booktype all burned media to DVD-ROM until a reboot. After a reboot, I have to reset the booktype again. I have just made this process one of my burning steps.

    @9mmruger9,
    Hey thanks alot, Now that I know what to do ,I will make it a step to do each time I reboot,and know that it is set to DVD-ROM. I talked to a LG rep,and he said that googel says to booktype,with NERO and it will stay perament,but I asked about a EXTERNAL, and he said he didn`t know for sure. Well I will do like you and ,after every reboot ,just reset it...
    Thanks A lot Guy...
