These are all different programs right? I have version 3.5.4.0 of decrypter, when I look for what is the most current of decrypter it is 3.9.* but when I load that it is refered to as DVD43. Then when I load anydvd it tells me that either anydvd or DVD43 has to be uninstalled. I have the newest version of shrink that is linked to the decrypter. I am just very confused about which of the seemingly dozens of softwares that could all work for protected copies.

Ok to help you out a little bit further. DVD Decrypter does not get updated anymore and i recommend a program called DVDFab Decrypter, it basically does what DVD Decrypter does but is up to date and gets updated frequently.

The reason you are having problems with AnyDVD and DVD43 is because the programs do the same thing and can not be run together. They conflict with each other. I recommend AnyDVD because it gets updated although it does cost.

Here are links to the programs

    DVDFab Decrypter

    AnyDVD

I hope that helps. Keep me posted if you need anything else...

No need to get hostile,I was just asking what the other member was trying to say. Some newbies seem to have a tough time explaining there problems they are having. If new members would spend a little more time reading the forums they shouldnt have a problem using the overwhelming amount of software thats availible.

What makes Decrypter, DVDFab Decrypter, Nero, CloneDVD, or 1Click better than one another?

I use to use 1click and DVD43 but formatted my puter and looking for new or better software. I have tried searching but come up with older posts. I am not looking for free programs but if they are great!

    TIA,
    Ben

If your looking for a good package that does the job great. I would go with CloneDVD 2 & AnyDVD. I would also get Nero for your normal CD DVD burning even when converting the avi files you may have on your computer.

CloneDVD 2 is a great compressor but DVD Shrink is better and its free.

For a good Decrypter I would go with DVDFab Decrypter it rips all files to the hard drive and it is still updated.

    I hope that helps.

i too love that anydvd and clonedvd2 work flawlessly are and are pretty much the best for the price and speed and quality , dvd43 is not even to be compared to anydvd lol. borhan9 you said dvd shrink is better then clonedvd2? im assuming your talking about backing up the movie with menus and all options to a 4.7 gb dvd to retain a better quality right? if so how much more time does it take and how really complicated is it ? ????

when i was talking about DVD Shrink being better. What i ment was at the compression it was better with the quality. But CloneDVD 2 does compress but does not have the same quality as Shrink does.

So do you recommend AnyDVD and CloneDVD or are you saying to use ALL THREE-->AnyDVD, CloneDVD, and DVD Shrink?

I am getting lost with what they do. I understand the job of AnyDVD and know I need a burn/copy program (thinking Clone) but what does DVDFab and DVD Shrink do?

Ok Well here are guides that tell you how to use DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

    DVDFab Decrypter
    http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=15715

    DVD Shrink
    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm

Programs the I would highly recommend are:

    1.AnyDVD
    2.DVDFab Decrypter (Freeware)
    3.CloneDVD 2
    4.DVD Shrink (Freeware)
5.DVD Decrypter (This is the original Decrypting program and does a fine job. But is not updated anymore, but users still use this programs with image files.)(Freeware)

I hope all this helps you. Happy New Year to All :D

borhan9 better conpressor = better dvd quality basicly dvd shrink has control to adjust each title set for higher/lower conpression on each set right? or what you mean??? other then that is the conpressor it self better? and would this yeild in a HUGE dramatic diffrense or the time it self makes it not worth it compared to clonedvd2 ?

    PSD
i used to be dvd x copy platinum 321 got shut down went uphill with anydvd and clonedvd2 purchase and never looked back . anydvd is the main hard worker from there its the decision of backing up the actual movie ......

DVD Shrink is better in compression. It specialises in compressing a movie. you can also choose what to compress and how much compression you can give certian things.

I have both CloneDVD 2 and DVD Shrink and for me if i am backing up a movie that i see as a really worthwhile movie then i would take the extra time that DVD Shrink will take to keep the quality of the movie that DVD Shrink gives all my backups.

If i am burning a movie that i dont really like but want to copress it to fit it in on a single layered with out any worry about if it comes out crappy or not i use CloneDVD 2 for it. Personally to the naked eye you sometimes can not see the difference. But DVD Shrink most of the time is worth the extra time for a decent quality backup. :)

Well the time difference is roughly for me about 1 hour. But most of the time for me it's worth it. :)

I am running DVDFAB w/Intervideo DVD copy 2. When I go to burn it after I downloaded it to the hard drive, I get an error message "not enough free disk space for temporaty path". Any help would be appreciated. (I use to use DVD43, but when I upgraded to .3.9.0, it wouldn't take the protection off. So I uninstalled it and tried FAB.)
