Boy if it isn't Nero its AnyDVD! Well a month back people on here as always got me the newest AnyDVD and Nero. Well yesterday I FINALLY got bought the movie "Fifth Element" on DVD after selling my VHS version. I went to back it up and got the infamous "NO DVD DRIVE DETECTED" screen. So, I didn't know what its problem was! Maybe it didn't like the movie! So I ignored it and backed up my movie with another program thinking AnyDVD had a problem with it. Well today I bought Crank and went to back it up and BOOM....same message "NO DVD DRIVE DETECTED"!!! Whats wrong with it now?!?!? I even uninstalled AnyDVD and tried reinstalling it and the stupid screen is still pops up on the Crank! BTW I have 6.1.0.3 (used a a version I had on cd).
Well since I can't figure out how to edit my thread.... I did uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot. At least thats what I have been tough to do. I don't know. As a side question is there any reason why certain movies make it go nuts then mess it up until you fix it?
Hi AnyDVD 6.1.0.3 is a beta. Perhaps you should go back to 6.1.0.2 Or the latest beta http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6104.exe
AssassinZ, For prior versions (you may want to bookmark this) http://www.filehippo.com/download_anydvd/ However, I don't believe this is going to solve the "No drive detected". Google "anydvd no drive detected" you will come up with possible causes and solutions. Here's one: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/434997 Are these the only movies that you have tried Anydvd on? I have Fifth Element Region 1 (Ultimate Edition - Disc1) and can attest Anydvd works. Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD 6.0.9.7) Drive (Hardware) Region: 1 Media is a Data DVD. Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite) Size of first Layer: 1836576 sectors (3587 MBytes) Total size: 3643744 sectors (7116 MBytes) Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO Media is CSS protected! Video Standard: NTSC Media is locked to region(s): 1 3 4! Found & removed RCE protection! DVD structure appears to be correct. Structural copy protection not found. Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD! Bad sector protection not found. Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1! Yes, I know my version is outdated, this is the computer that is connected to the internet.
AssassinZ, Did you read the entire thread? Possible causes/solutions: 1.using a cracked version 2.vebro's solution of compatibility mode 3.ChrisC586 to uninstall/reinstall your drivers/ do spyware, adware, hijack scans (always a good idea to do these regularly anyways....the good people of various forums taught me the importance of running a clean, mean, machine THANKS GUYS!!) http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/166 If you can rip and burn with other programs, I doubt you have a bum burner. 4.BIGTOXY69 Contact Slysoft? Crank is a new release and lots of people are having problems, thank the studios for that. There are many that are having success with versions 6.1.0.2 and 6.1.0.3. Also reports of success using Ripit4me. Google "crank anydvd". I don't have this movie so can't tell you.
Hi ;-) These releases are primarily intended to help with specific problems. Hence no general release. However if you have problems, then it could be worth trying. If you do try a beta version. Still download & install the final release from slysoft's homepage even if the version # is the same. This is becuase there may well have been some tweaking/cleaning up during finalisation. The above is the latest from that site (beta releases) I believe.
Zebadee, I've never had problems with Anydvd or CloneDvd2. Well, maybe a few new releases, but updates have always resolved them. I do find it odd that many people also have many problems when Microsoft has new updates. They seem to go hand in hand, it could just be a coincidence? But again, this hasn't been an issue for me.
Hi ;-) @ mackdl I have never had any problems myself. Along with the odd problem with MS (which is rarer than you think) It can be a myriad of things that go to cause conflicts. That's why the beta to try eliminate these. Beta testers often have no problems of their own, but will try to simulate problems expressed in various forums.
