Something along the lines of AnyDVD using rootkit type behaviour to stop itself from being blacklisted I would imagine. So say blocking anything from reading its registry keys to check whether it is installed or not.

Basically something that shouldn't need to be there. Software sepecifying what software I can have installed is just BS. I should be able to install whatever I want. If an original game won't run because I have say AnyDVD installed, then that is just going to make me more inclined to get a free cracked version.
