Anyone had problems with altnet?

My neighbors computer is running horribly slow and they say that altnet keeps popping up on all their spyware scans but it never fully deletes it. I was just wondering if anyone has had problems with this before and if all they have to do is run their spyware/adware/protection programs in safe mode. Because I had the same problem with aurora and some ppl helped me out with it on here. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
