I'm a bit confused about a music file I've downloaded.
its a album with a ape extension.
do i have to convert this to be able to burn to CD?

You can either decode to .wav using Monkey's Audio and burn or use burning software that is capable of decoding on the fly like Nero with plugin from http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org, burrrn or foobar2000 (with plugin, Nero installation required for burning)

Beware: If you burn at high speed, decoding might bee too slow depending on the settings that were used for encoding. So with decoding to .wav 1st you're on safe side.
