Hey everyone. I've been having a very puzzling error message pop up on me while trying to use a program called rawdump. Some of you guys familiar with the wii modding scene probably have had some experience with this program so feel free to give me suggestion but this is mostly likely falls under the expertise of the boys here in the software forums. I've been working with computers for quite awhile and I've had my share of computer problems like this-error messages and software problems specifically and i've solved most all of them
through trial and error but this one is probably the most difficult problem i've dealt with so far. So I would highly appreciate any suggestions you can give me. First off.. this error
is produced by one specific program rawdump.exe but there has been one other error message pop up given by certain *.EXE files. The two may be related somehow but regardless both of them are pretty annoying and i'd like to resolve this. I get the error message when
I try to open the program called rawdump.exe. The program does not open at all it just gives me the following error message-
(detials of the error message from the help and support center + the actually error message from eventvwr)
    "Details
    Product: Windows Operating System
    ID: 26
    Source: Application Popup
    Version: 5.2
    Symbolic Name: STATUS_LOG_HARD_ERROR
    Message: Application popup: %1 : %2
    Explanation
The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't have sufficient

privileges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt.
    User Action
    To correct this problem:
Ensure that the program user has sufficient privileges to access the directory in which the

    driver is installed.
Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the correct location.
If these solutions do not work, contact Product Support Services.
    Version: 5.0
    Symbolic Name: status_log_hard_error
Message: Unable to Load Device Driver : device driver could not be loaded.
    Explanation
The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't have sufficient

privileges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt.
    User Action
    To correct this problem:
Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the correct location."

    The error message itself-
"Application popup: rawdump.exe - Application Error : The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click on OK to terminate the application."

No matter what I try it will not open... I have spent nearly two weeks googling trying to solve this problem so I can use rawdump because I just recently bought a new gdr-8164b dvd-rom to use with it to backup my wii games. I have seen other people post over in the wii forums about similar error messages with rawdump and I have tried their rememdies but with no luck. I've also researched the error message itself on google to see if other people have had the same problems with other *.EXE programs and there are many people with the same problem or specific error message but they get the error from other programs and I have found no one who gets this same error message with rawdump. Some of the suggestions I found said that the problem was related to .net framework and missing drivers.
But I still have not found a cure for this and I don't have a clue on how to fix this.
Here are some of the things I have tried to resolve the issue.
I have installed .net framework 2.0 and tried the repair function.
I have tried the .net framework cleanup utility
I have downloaded all the different versions of rawdump and tried them individually and they still give the same error.
I have installed abobe flash and shockwave
I have ran at least three virus scans with AVG in safemode.
I have ran the chkdsk and sfc utilities and they showed no problems.
I have tried defragmenting my drive and setting my IDE channels to PIO
    Only.
I have tried the symantic W32.Klez.gen@mm nor W32.ElKern.gen worm removal tool
I have also gone as far as to reformat my HDD and reinstalling windows.

None of these things have helped at all. I'm clueless so I look forward to hearing some of your suggestions.

And FYI here are the specs of my PC.
    Compaq
    Pentium 4
    256mb ram
    2.4 GHZ
    Internal DVD-ROM GDR-8164b
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1
Bundled with Compaq software and drivers.

And about that other error message I mentioned before... When I try to open some *.EXE files they produce a error message that says "Only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory request was completed." I got this error when trying to open the DVDdecryptor installer.

Sorry for making this so long but I wanted to cram as much info in
here as I could. But thats about it. If someone has some helpful suggestions then please let me know what you think. Or if your having the same problems as me then please post here and If I find a solution I'll let you know.

I am having the exact same problem on my Dell. I've done similar things, completely reinstalled the OS 3 times, installed all the drivers, everything, and I get the error. It seems to deal with all programs that use the .net framework such as visual studio programs and the ATI Catalyst Software Suite. I have been unable to find any answers as well and no one seems to be able to help me. I hope that this gets resolved though, there are some things I'd like to get done besides installing Windows constantly.

    Running: Windows XP SP2 Professional

Glad to hear i'm not the only one with this strange problem.
I've done so much searching on google and other search engines and nothing turns up... So I hope the guiys here on afterdawn can help us out. I've done the same thing as you, reformatted and reinstalled windows once already and it hasn't helped. I have a theory though..
Did you buy your computer used or refurbished? I bought mine refurbished through ebay. Are your windows discs authentic?
Mine are labeled compaq windows setup discs but they look fake.
I believe that the operating system has been tampered with before I bought it.. maybe the nice people who sold it to me purposely put spyware or viruses on it or the windows discs are faulty and missing important system files. Thats just a theory though... but right now i am DLing a couple different virus scanners and spyware scanners to see if I can find any malicous software that may be causing the problem. I'll let you know if I accomplish anything.

I bought mine directly from Dell and my computer worked fine for nearly a year. I started getting weird video errors which prompted me to reinstall and then this error started happening. I did do something last night that seems to have brought my computer down from error every time I open anything to a slightly more stable state. If you go to the device manager do you see any drivers that haven't been installed? Specifically something like SM Bus Controller? If so you may want to go to the Compaq website and see if you can find any drivers. My computer is at least letting me compile .net framework applications, but I'm trying to change as little as possible less I do something that makes the error messages reappear.
