Are my AVI's corrupted or am I just going insane?

    EDIT: Damn, I'm sorry, this should have been posted in the AVI to DVD forum, sorry mods, didn't mean to start trouble. If someone could move this that'd be great!

    Now I know I have the newbie title, but I do know what I'm talking about to some extent so you don't have to worry about treating me like an idiot.

    Heres' the story, I downloaded some anime fan subs from a.scarywater.net, they are unlicensed and so it is perfectly legal to copy them. I wanted to burn them to a DVD so that I didn't have to sit in my computer chair and watch 20 hours of anime in my computer room, and also so I could bring them to friends houses blah blah blah.

    Anyway, So I have all these AVI's on my computer and I want to put them on DVD, but things go horribly wrong...

    Things I tried
    --------------
    1. Nero ExpressVision - Stalled at 00:11:08.13 constantly.
    2. TMPGenc - Produced horrible interlacing artifacts and the audio file was an insane mess of random clicks and pops.
    3. TMPGenc DVD Source Creator - Same thing as Nero.
    4. AVI2DVD - At this point I stopped remembering what went wrong, but this one did the same as Nero I think, but at a different point.
    5. DIKO - Just kind of froze at an unspecified point.

    I've been at this days now, since saturday to be correct, and I'm starting to lose it.

    The only thing I can figure out is that maybe bit torrent screwed up and gave me some garbled junk data within the file. I mean, that's my guess, I don't know, but I'd like to know, is there any way I can repair damaged files? Possibly with virtualdub/mod or something, at this point I don't care how long it takes i just want these things burned, possibly out of spite at this point. If anyone can help me I'll bow down an worship you, thanks guys!

    For the impatient, try VSO divx to dvd.
    For the patient, learn how to extract uncompressed .wav in virtualdub. Encode video separately. Transcode audio to AC3 separately. Join during authoring.
    There's a ton of guides and posts on these procedures already.

    Sorry about posting in the wrong forum, in only occurred to me afterwards.

    I'll try the VSO DivX to DVD software and if that doesn't work it's on to virtualdub.
