I recently got the artic cooler freezer pro 7 CPU heatsink, but unfortunately it did not come with some thermal paste. I fogot where but I was told that it came with some. Is this right, so I can contact them to send me some or would I have to buy some paste on newegg and postpone my computer building? Or is the termal paste already installed on the heatsink, because I never put one on myself. On the bottom it has this square silver thing.

Generally speaking, the devise should come with thermal paste. If your prepared to wait for that item that may or may not be included, then that's your choice. Having said that, if you choose not to wait then get the best thermal grease/paste you can. Arctic silver III, IV, V (apparently) are a good choice. As for the silver square thing, that sounds very much like the protective cover for the heat sinks contact point. For heavens sakes don't remove it until the last moment of install.

    Cheers.

The base of the freezer 7 will be copper, shiny orange. If there's a coating on top of that (possibly silver/grey in colour) that's its thermal pad, pre-applied. Stick it on there. But oh yes, if it's actually a plastic cover, remove that! :p

i can't see how a freezer 7 wouldn't come with pre-applied paste. it doesn't come in a bottle or tube or syringe, it's a square patch of grey stuff on the bottom with a plastic piece covering it. Just take off the plastic and stick it to your connect the fan to your mobo.
