Anyone help me out with aspect ratio wierdness?

I've got a soft modded xbox - system is in PAL, running EvoX and XBMC. Connected to a projector via S-Video.

I recently got my hands on some NTSC (US) games. Whether I set the games to launch in PAL, NTSC-M or NTSC-J via both EvoX and XBMC, the games will launch, and for example with Madden 2009 will look perfect on the initial EA logo, then a splash screen shows up with some loading... text over the top. Once the load finishes, BAM, aspect ratio is destroyed, it squashes everything horizontally so I end up with a bunch of beanpole looking football players... doing my head in... any tips would be awesome, Thanks!~

If you launch via the XBMX dash, you can set a few adjustments for PAL\NTSC.

However, the problem you describe has nothing to do with PAL vs NTSC, nothing at all.

The image problem is a result of something trying to display a widescreen image within a standard 4:3 view. Check your system settings, and see if you have widescreen setup on the xbox, or if your projector is trying to convert 4:3 images to widescreen. That should help, I've owned a couple televisions that would do things like that...
