i recently used winavi converter to convert a rmvb file to vob and burn it with nero in the NTSC format. however it doesnt seem to play it just keeps on loading and after some research i found out that it did not play because of the aspect ratio of the tv.( it only plays 16:9 widescreen,4:3 letterbox,4:3 panscan) and winavi converts my rmvb file to a ratio 16:9 letterbox so i was wondering if anyone could recommend a program that let me convert my rmvb file to vob in the aspect ratio that my tv supports thx. a solution i found is to convert rmvb to avi then use dvd flick but that takes over 12 hours compared to the winavi/nero way (6 hours)so i really wont want to resort to the avi/dvdflick way.
The TV accepts what it's given from the player and since the players' setup reflects the screen that it is connected to, it outputs the video as-is or in letterbox. The TV should be showing something. If it just "keeps on loading" then it's possible that there is something wrong with the disk. Does the disk play ok on the PC?
yup it works on my pc. btw the its really a combination of tv and dvd player merged together. name is Toshiba MD19N1(-P/R)
Have someone try it on another DVD player. If the disk has been authored to the DVD video standard - and I assume it has, then the standalone has to accept it and the TV has to display it - an exception being that the disk is of a type that the player doesn't normally accept, (DVD-R or DVD+R).
