on this assiginment "is to explore the current and future technologies of steel." Any direction, advise, webpages, animations, pictures, movies/video's that i can use would be a great help! My setup is..... at this stage to design a small/short movie/display - *FILM* -Dawn of Man eg show the intro of a ***2001 - A Space Odyssey*** just a brief scene with the ape men + the music................ -Next- Follow this scene with the darkages eg medievil times where blacksmiths forged(spelling) ***not sure a good movie showing a blacksmith workin with hot metal in medievil times*** HELP? ---to then get into the topic of the assignment i want to just hold/record the rock that is mined--- From here i want to start/and breifly show the process of steel making eg slides, pictures, short film of the mining process, transportation, making, end products etc (any help with finding examples of this stuff) From there i just want to go into the technology of now - just want to show edit a whole heap of stuff like old cars, motorbikes, planes/jets, bikes jumping, cars crashing, going fast, also old footage of cars, bikes, planes (i want to dub a bit of music in with it) from there i just want to then focus on the same eg bikes, planes, cars, robots, robotics, and future designs of technology maybe building, cities, space - also animations and cool short movies that people have designed. (will ask for permission/or find free dwloads of this stuff) i hope someone knows what i am talking about, because i dont really know about it myself......hmmmm.....i think it sounds good, but? again any help/direction would be a great help......any web sites, any footage, picture, of maybe even stuff that u may have designed and liked shown................. thanks
I'll let others answer your questions but you might consider "The Anvil Chorus" from "Il Travatore" by Giuseppi Verdi.... You'd probably recognize it when you hear it...it's a really famous full sounding and robust chorus piece make to suggest its very name ... banging out metal on an anvil. Regarding "old cars" you might want to go on the internet and see if you can find clips from "The Keystone Cops"; they're hysterical car and chase scenes from the days of silent movies...the chase scenes are accompanies by fast and clever piano work. You might also look up "Bethlehem Steel" for stills and maybe clips; they were the largest in the world until some 20-30 years ago.
thanks gerry found alittle from these sites, hmmm i basically want to download/use lots of very short clips 4-10sec footage and piece them altogether so besides my brief intro of using dawn of man (space odyssey and a blacksmith forgueing metal eg making a sword ? (not sure about which movie for this tho) - after into and talking about mining-extractation-equipment-and the making of iron/steel through bits of info i have on paper - would like animation or film footage(might use ms powerpoint for this bit) i want to just put together lots and lots of short clips relating/showing first the end products of steel/iron eg cars-motobikes-planes- first briefly mixing old footage of black and white films of funny car chases/plane crashes/and then show todays designs, showin crashes, jumps, speed, extreme stuff. last piece of footage i want to try and do is future design of mining (like animation of werid trucks/builds/tools etc that i will just lie and say this could be the future of mining. and from here just edit for more extreme designs of robotonics (need footage tho)cars/bikes/planes/futre animations of buildings/space/robots etc thanks guys for any help.........
you could probably find a lot of footage on the history channel's website. also, go to the library and check out documentaries. you can rip those yourself and use them for your class project (as i believe the law still protects that right for educational purposes).
