I have been trying to convert VHS tapes of very good quality to DVD. I have read most of what others seem to have gone through, but while I can burn the video onto a DVD with a few different programs, the quality is awful.

My system is: Pent 4 CPU @ 2.8 MHZ, 512 MB Ram; NVIDIA GForce 6200 video card with 128 MB DD2 RAM; and the Dazzle DCV100 USB capturing device.

No matter what software I use the AVI file just renders terrible. I have used both Nero 7 Ultra and the Pinnacle software. I want the DVD to have nearly the same as the VHS tape is.

    Is there better capturing software?

    Is there better burning softeware?

Should I use a ATI All in Wonder card?

Is the Dazzle DVC100 any good?

    Many thanks for your help.

The Dazzle DVC capture devices aren't very good quality, so it's not surprising you're getting bad results. I'd upgrade to a better capture device, an ATI card, or Hauppauge.
