hey guy's, its been a while since my last post but here's my issue. I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-7VT600 off ebay and it runs great, but a while back i purchased an AMD Athlon XP Mobile 2400 which has a barton core and a 512 L2 Cache. When i installed it the mainboard only reads the processor at 600mhz which kills me because i read there are ways to enable the board so it reads the processor. I just have no idea how. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Clore
Also you may want to check out your motherboards configuration as it may have jumpers to set various ratios for the FSB/Multiplier etc. These configurations will be found in the manual. If there aren't any, then it will all be BIOS controlled and therefore concur with ddp to check for a BIOS update or settings within the CMOS regarding memory speed and multipliers. Found this site which may come of some use http://www.csgnetwork.com/cpuclockcalc.html CPU Speed = clock multiplier x FSB Another link for you http://www.networkclue.com/hardware/computer/performance/overclocking.php Hope this helps......
