What type of music is on the DVD, by that I mean is it compressed or uncompressed? Is it a concert DVD or a movie DVD?
Well, Movie DVDs use a lossy format called AC3 (A.K.A. Dolby Digital/Digital Suround). Concert DVDs use an uncompress format called L-PCM which is similar to what CDs use, PCM, but at usually have a higher sample rate than CD tracks. I would say your best bet would be, the concert DVDs. Movies normally have dialog during songs and even then there only song snippets (except for the title and credit sections). Also you would have to convert the AC3 tracks to WAV or MP3 in-order to use them. All of this can be done using the methods outlined in this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/184368 Ced
