I have converted dozens of movies from avi to DVD using the program win avi. Yesterday I converted a movie and when I ran it in my player the picture was fine but the audio was hissing, popping, cracking and scratching. I thought it was the disk so I tried it on annother and it did the same thing. I checked the original movie I was converting and it ran perfectly. I went on to convert a few more movies which worked fine. But then the last movie did the same thing. I have never seen this happen before and then it happened twice on the same day. I dont know if it is a software issue, some type of copy protection or had to do with the way the audio in the movies were ripped. Both movies were listed as AC3 audio. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
First off.... they were not cam or ts....they were perfectcrystal clear dvd rips like any other rips I have done before. The picture and sound works perfectly when viewing it on the computer. Once converted using winavi there is no audio at all aside from hisses and scratching. Both movies were listed has being AC3 However I have converted other movies listed as having Ac3 but I have never run into this problem. I find it odd that it happened twice on the same day but so far it seems random.
You could run them, ac3 ones that worked and those you had trouble with through GSpot(I still use 2.21) and look for any irregularities/clues. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
