I have a Nokia N95 mobile phone which I regularly take to dance events to record audio and video.....

My problem is when playing back the recording the bass is incredibly distorted.....

Is it possible to filter the distortion in the audio whilst attempting to keep the audio quality at a high level.....if so how can this be done ?

I have no problem transferring the MP4 from phone to pc, seperating audio and video is fine too....

Thanks in advance...any help is appreciated!

The problem is in the mic your phone uses to record. The only way to cut down on distortion would be to change the mic on your phone, which would be difficult if possible, or get signal from a good mic onto your phone via a headphone jack or something like that.
