I encoded a mpeg file to svcd and burned it all using Nero. The audio and video playback are very chopy. What should I do to fix? Thanx.

I used avi2vcd to encode and if I want to burn it on Nero's Super VCD, it says it has to use my super vcd update to re-encode it to super vcd. After this, it works in my dvd player, but the audio is a little chopy. what does the audio compressor do? My dvd player plays windows media player files. would that be an easier route? thank you very much.
