I have recently purchased 4 Giga-Byte 7VM400M-RZ boards all running with AMD Sempron 2400 CPU and 256MB DDR RAM. They also have a 40GB Western Digital HDD. The problem is , however, I can't get any audio from either Motherboard. I have downloaded the latest drivers and still can't get and audio. Can anyone please help?
It might be possible that Onboard sound is not enabled in the BIOS. Check in the bios for Onboard sound and make sure that its Enabled not Disabled. CJC
By chance are you running on board audio and also a PCI audio card? If so they will cause a conflict to each other. If you have the PCI card, disable the ON BOARD audio. Jerry
The other things to look at are: What kind of sound are you trying to play? Check Windows to make sure all options are enabled and all the volumes are turned up. Try another set of speakers...maybe the ones you are using are dead? Does the Device Manager show any conflicts? Adder.
Well there isn't another sound PCI card and all windows sounds and multimedia options are enabled. I have also tried different speakers and still no audio. I am waiting to hear back from Gigabyte and see what they say. Cheers
OK. A few things, if you go into Control Panel, System, then Device Manage, under sound controllers does the sound card show up there and does it have a Yellow ! ? Are you plugging the speakers into the Lime Green 3.5 Socket? Do you see the Sound Icon on the taskbar ? CJC
