I am recording my old tapes to mp3s with audio recorder pro. when i replay them on my cds after i burned them the music is too loud and distorted . can anybody advise what should be the maximum dbs used in recording so i dont get distortion when i play my cds and push up the volume. thanks anybody
I've never used Audio Recorder Pro but there should be a couple of meters in it that show the volume. If you are peaking out, this will cause what you are getting. There should also be a way to adjust the volume so that you don't peak out. Unfortunately, you are going to have to rerecord the music you have already done to get the best results. When you are done, if you want to raise the volume, you can download this little tool. It will increase the volume & also make all your mp3 files the same volume. http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ BTW, You should be going into your computer through th "Line-In" & not the Microphone. I've read elsewhere that the microphone jack is more likely to cause this problem.
