audio/video out of sync

    I d/l this MPG file that has the sound about 3 seconds off the video...can I use a program to re-record the file to wherever I want the sound to go? Thx!

    I know VirtualDubMod can fix sync probs in avi files, but I don't know about mpgs, sorry.

    was the sound out of sync after encoding or did you ddownload a file out of sync??

    Alrighty...mislooked. It still is an AVI file, and it was downloaded that way. The video is roughly about 3 seconds ahead of the sound on the entire video.

    Ok...I got it opened in VirtuaDub...and I have NO clue where to even start/look/begin/anything! Has anyone ever done something like this before? Any tips or pointers will be most helpful! :)

    click video - direct stream copy
    click audio - direct stream copy
    click audio - interleaving - change the audio delay
    preview it by playing it (should work)

    when all is good, click file - save as avi!
