I use Easy CD-DA Extractor and I've beeen encoding using average bit rate instead of variable bit rate. It seems I have more control over the bitrate that way. With avg bitrate, I specify that I want to have a mp3 file that is variable bit rate, but the bit rate never goes below or above the birates I set - a min and max which I set at 192kps and 224 kps. Does anyone see any problems with this over variable bit rate?
VBR is the best type of bit rate you can encode to. And Dont use anything else but Exact Audio Copy as it is the best ripper with C2 error correction. Here is the guide to set up, install and configure. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm And to see what encoding rates you need look at this thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1912
