hey thanks bro, now I know that to solve this problem is by deleting the avg update and download info files for all users.
I have been having this issue for a week now and i have just done a google search and found the answer and wanted to see if we had a thread about this issue that AVG had i see that we do and we also have the link that i was going to post. I have to say we are really up to date here on aD.
Agreed Borhan. I did the same thing yesterday when this problem started ocurring on my home pc. Right down to searching for an existing thread on this topic as i too would've posted the same info and the same link. Well done all.
There is a way to solve the error manually at Remove AVG Update Error There also provided the tool to remove the error which has been enlisted in Softpedia and has been downloaded 1061 times.
I just download the update files and run it manually.. it's easier that way for me when I have to deal with a lot of machines with no internet connection on a weekly basis.
cdavfrew, you need to whittle your sig down a tad. Signatures These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying. 1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text. 2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. 3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed. 4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text. 5. All the abovementioned rules for forum posts apply also to the signatures. Violation of these rules does not lead to an immediate ban. However if requested user must edit his or her signature to fit these guidelines.
