Hi Guys, It's been a long while since I've been here, but I know this is the place to go for answers. I have been encoding AVI and DIVX files to DVD files for the better part of a year now, with a few different programs. One of them that I used frequently was Super, and another was a kind of generic avidivx2dvd program. Never had any problems until about a month ago. Although I don't recall any major changes to my computer, or any freshly installed programs, all of a sudden, when encoding a file, at near the half way point, the computer would simply shut down and restart. When coming back up, it was as if the program had never run. I tried this with the two programs that I had, then updated them to be sure, and consequently downloaded and tried about three others, all with the same results. I've done searches on Google for this problem, and the tag words are too wide ranging to get anything useful back. So, I am here, the place that has always helped me out before. If anybody knows what might be causing this, or how I can fix it, I would be forever grateful. I am about at my last resort before reformatting my computer, which I most assuredly would rather not do. Thanks for reading. Lee
To eliminate one possibility, check the CPU temp during conversion. http://majorgeeks.com/Hmonitor_d269.html
