I am just starting to experiment with AVI/Dixv to DVD. However, I am looking at one click programs and I am not sure which is best to use. I want to be able to merge more than one file together and burn to DVD to watch on TV. I have Nero 7 and Ultra DVD Converter. It looks like that they will transcode ok, but it looks like it will take almost 3-4 hrs to do so. Is this normal? I am only doing 2 avi files to merge a 2pc movie. I started to burn one and gave up after 1/5 hours and only being 5% complete. There has to be a better animal. I am using a fairly fast machine with a new updated fast burner. what gives on the time to burn?

actually can you give me your pc stats?
next can you download avicodec ,run your files through it and then post the results for us to see

while your downloading avicodec ,can you download vso divx to dvd from the link below

    http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm

This is a free converter which will convert your avi/divx/xvid files into a dvd movie or mpeg2 format

Andmerr, here's a wierd one. I have a flick cut into two cd's. Parts 1 and 2. Part one is 701 meg avi and part 2 is 716 meg avi. Part two runs fine, but Part 1 just shows a green box when run. I copied both files from their perspective cd's and this is what happens.

When played from the cd's they are fine. Any ideas?
