O.K. I am ready to scream, I couldn't even figure out where to post this, so I am sticking it here. My younger sister created a film on my comp for school. It is an .avi file, and they viewed at school on another comp, so no problems there. She and my mother are desperate (and all over me to find out how) to share this film with my granparents out of state. Well, of course, they have no PC. So, my question is, Is it possable to convert this .avi into an .iso and burn it to a disk that will play in their DVD player. All i have is a CD burner and a DVD reader. No DVD burner.(cause that just woulda been to easy grrrrrr) I was hoping that maybe there was a program that would let me do this. The film is only like 48 mins long. Any help will be appreciated. My mom is drivin me insane.
what you will need to do is convert your avi to an mpeg 1 file with something like tmpgenc encoder which then will allow you to burn the file as a vcd file. The only real stumbling block is going to be if the other dvd player your grandparents have cant play vcd's (note :this is not an iso conversion) Hopefully this helps calm your mother down. andmerr
ok i got the conversion prog. used it, and then burned the VCD to a CDR. it plays in our dvd player, but the sound is kinda screwy, it is in sync with the video, but it cuts out a lot, it makes the narration and dialouge impossable to follow, any way to fix this? ty for your reply.
