AVI file when clicked on clears desktop for a second

    When I try to open a certain AVI file i have, it clears the desktop for a second then everything comes back. I tried opening it with other programs..(WinAmp, and Win Avi to convert it) same thing it closes the program and clears desktop. Has anyone experienced this, and if so is there a way to fix this thank you
