I got a 46" 1080p LCD today and my .avi files don't look good anymore. They looked great on a 32" CRT but now look grainy and like they're zoomed in. I've ripped my DVD's with DVDFab at 2500 kbps.

What are some quality settings to get a decent looking picture? I'm worried my entire movie collection is garbage now on a good tv.

They look really grainy. Like if you watch a youtube video and zoom full screen you can see it more pixelated since it was made for a smaller resolution.

It looks fine with actual DVD's. I've ripped my dvd's to h.264 at 2500 kbps with 2 pass encoding on DVD fab. I'm streaming them to my xbox 360 via Tversity and my xbox is connected to my 1080p LCD via HDMI.

Gonna try upping the bitrate higher and see if that helps
