AVI files suddenyl started to stutter

    I was downloading videos from my camcorder using a firewire cable and Captureflux soft.

    All of a sudden the computer froze (while the camcorder kept playing) and I had to ctrl+al+del to stop the program.

    I rebooted and it took like 4 minutes to start Win XP SP2 and when I played the videos with Windows Media player I watch them like in slow motion and video stutters. It's an AVI type 1 video

    No other video type stutters (MPG, etc) but AVI. and when I try to download again I get lots of lost frames.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    ps: I've got a P4 2.8 Ghz with 2.0 Gb RAM

    Check the hard drive to verify that DMA is on.

    My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > IDE Controllers > Primary IDE Channel > Properties > Advanced Settings.

    I've got two IDE drives and both have DMA on...
