    hello people
    this is my first post
yes I did search and I read the guides section, but couldn't find an answer to my question.
if this is a repost to an answered question please direct me to the answer and accept my appologies.

the problem is: I've downloaded an .avi movie, but the movie is played upside down.
i.e the image appears upside-down, heads down, leggs up
    what can be the problem??
how can I fix it if it can be fixed??

    thank you

Try a swivel monitor - invert

This can be a common problem when playing AVI files. It often has to do with some codec pack you have installed. I can't tell you exactly how to get to those codec settings but whatever codec is playing the video should have a setting to invert the video. You might want to use a codec like below.

    FFDSHOW
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm

To invert the video in FFDSHOW.
    Start > Programs > ffdshow > Configuration
Toward the bottom of the list under the ffdshow tab, click on Miscellaneous. Under Other controls check Flip Video.

cucusofts avi2mpeg has a box on the front that when you play the file if its upside down you can tick it to make it the right way up before you convert the file.

Thank you for all suggestions! One has got to work.

don't have a swivel monitor wish I did. LOL

Think FFDSHOW will be the best route for now.
