    Someone may know the answer..

I ran a recently downloaded AVI thru GSpot which told me i had 2 codec's ( Xvid ) that would play the file no probs. When played in ANY player , Elecard, Media Player, Winamp 3 etc.. the play back is all PINK with audio no problems, just crap video. The image is in there, somewhere, its just all mangled up with the wrong colours.. mostly pink.

    help!

    I've installed the XviD-04102002-1 (Koepi's build) codec...

Hmmm...is that the newest codec build?

Maybe you could try using ffdshow.

Righto, well, i installed that codec pack as advised.. The outcome is even worse....

Im really close formatting my hard disk and starting again, less anyone can suggest a blanket way of deleting all codec's and me starting from scratch.

PS: Microsoft Media player is a buch of ARSE.

Only use one codec. Xvid codecs are not veru civil to each other. XviD-04102002-1 is a good one.

Try opening the video up in VirtualDub and playing it in there.. are there video problems there? If NOT then reinstall FDDSHOW. If SO... the movie is toasted.

Now if you remove ALL your codecs and install Nimo 5 Build 8 (make sure you add XVID and Hyffyvid located under videoCodecs) and then FDDSHOW I think you will have what you need. I believe the Nimo5B8 comes with DivX5.02.. not the newest but if you are just playing and not encoding... no biggie. You need to be kinda careful with NIMO because the chance of installing as billion codecs you dont need is very real lol :)

Go to your control panel - add/remove programs, and uninstall the angelpotion mpeg-4 codec!
