Hi-can anyone help? I'm a little bit, no sorry a big bit thick when it comes to pc's and their workings. My problem is - I've been taking video clips on my samsung nv10 camera and saving them to my home pc. there was a time when i could watch them on windows media player or my camera softwear media but now all my video clips in all my folders are avi format which I couldn't watch . Afterdawn sorted me out as regards being able to watch them on my own pc now(I downloaded a codecs thingy!)Quality is not as good as before so I'm not happy. But my questions are- what did I do wrong to convert them to avi? Can i get them back to mpeg or mov or whatever they are called? Can I do anything so that the next video clips I save from my camera are watchable on windows media or watchable if I send them by email to another pc? (that's another prob- I can't send movie clips. Is there a setting on my camera I need to change? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated ta. Respect to all blondes coz I'm letting all the brunettes down big style!!
Windows media play hasn't worked right on my computer in over a year, it shows a distorted nasty mess of a video or sometimes 1/2 of the screen shows alright but the bottom 1/2 is pure distortion. Tried updating it but that didn't fix it. What does work is downloading VLC media player (free) It plays most every kind of file i've given it and it looks good. Question, when you send these clips to others, can they watch them alright?
