AVI problems w/out end

    I've downloaded a lot of anime in AVI format and had problems using PowerProducer Gold back in the day trying to author DVD's with them. Well, I've upgraded to NeroVision and still, the same problem except it actually burns onto the disc and then freezes part way through.

    Most AVI files have gone through no problem but I have downloaded quite a few movie files as well that just don't work for some reason. In fact, there seems to be some problem with those AVI files when I use any program (except playback) including DVD Santa, DVD Lab, Ultra DVD Creator, even TMP Encoder because I thought encoding to MPEG would fix it but it won't even open them.

    So, I tried out some of the programs like G-Spot and Digital Video Repair. DVR runs through them like there are no problems, and all the specs of the files look the same on avis that don't work and those that do.

    Could anybody through out some ideas so I can get started on this? I don't care how technical the problem could be I just want to fix it. I have a lot of Video files I can't author.
