hi I find that my DV footage (AVI) is smooth on the PC. I then convert this clip to mpeg 2, at highest settings for quality and motion only to find that it seems the "frame rate" drops. What I mean by this is fast moving objects (cyclists) are slightly blurry, while they are in smooth motion in the AVI clip. Any ideas? I have tried many settings, and cant get rid of this issue. regards Kobus
hi Sony vegas 5 (mainconcept mpeg2 encoder). settings: video - best VBR 2 pass and 9800 bps average I frames - 15 DC coeficient 10 B frames 2 Pal video at 25 fps main profile interlaced - bottom field first I even tried "allow field based motion compensation" It is for converting mountain bike video (AVI) from my Sony digital 8. As mentioned the AVI is smooth but mpeg2 slightly blurry (like low frame rate?) on fast motion. thnx Kobus
What aspect ratio is the source? If you're upsampling to 720x576, things can get blurry, and it's nothing to do with bitrate.
Have you tried bottom field first? Have you messed with interlacing? Have you viewed it on a TV, not just the PC? What are you using to view it?
