I have a 1,400,000 kb .avi file and want to convert it to dvd format so that I can put it on a disk. I have tried many programs but they all suck. DVD Flick was said to be good but it only converted half of the file. Can anyone help me figure this thing out? Is the file too big?

    What problems?
    What's the running time?
You can try FAVC as an alternative to DVD Flick.

The running time is 2 hours and 13 minutes. When I convert the file it comes up as 1 hour 7 minutes. I will try FAVC though.

All right here is an update...FAVC did not work either. I opened them in DVD shrink to check out the if it worked and it encountered an error. When thinking back, when FAVC was running the conversion it kept saying invalid and inefficient vfw-avi. What is going on with this program now?

All right, I am still having trouble with this. I will start from the beginning....When I downloaded the file it gave me 30 WinRAR archive files. When I extract one of the files individually and play it as an .avi it plays the whole movie with running time of 2:13:00. However when I convert the file to DVD with DVD Flick, the end product shows only the first x amount of minutes depending on which of the 30 files I convert. It makes no sense at all.

then unpack them all.. if they will only unpack one at a time (yeah.. some idiots STILL can't make a working mulitpart archive) then go through each in turn and specify the same unpack directory.. it will ask about overwriting.. agree.. and you will end up with one big avi.
