Hi, after the great advice on this forum I've managed to burn AVI (Xvid) to DVD but have come across a few problems. As I only want to use freeware can you advise me on the next course of action?

I used VSO DivXtoDVD (0.5.2.99) to turn seven half-hour episodes into a DVD disk folder. It seems to work fine.

Now I'd like to burn to DVD using Disk Decrypter but you need an ISO. Unfortunatly you cannot use Folder2ISO to make an ISO of a DVD movie, just a data disk.

So I used DVD Shrink to reauthor the TS_VIDEO files into a ISO which I managed to burn using DVD Decrypter. So here's my questions:

    1. If I use DivXtoDVD am I not converting the AVI twice? Will I lose out on quality?

    2. I was hoping each episode could be another chapter so I could forward to each one. Unfortunatly it seems to have put the seven chapter markings about every five minutes. I can forward to seven points in the first episode but then they run out and I can't forward past the half hour stage.

    3. Is there any other freeware software I should be using that may save me time, produce better results and make the correct chapter markings on the ISO?

    Thanks in advance.

    JK..

    hi:

great, as to the other steps bypass them.Download the 30 day trial of both nero and tmpgenc dvd author.Add all your files or as much as you can get onto a disc with tmpgenc dvd author, add the menus etc, edit the files if need be, put in the amount of chapters you want (i guess 7 would be it this time) and then you can burn it to iso using this program or utilise nero as the burning agent and get your project to disc.

There are tutorials both basic and advanced in the guides section of AD.Top of the page, click the guides tab, and when the page refreshes, scroll on down til you find what you are searching for.

    have fun
