I put this in the wrong forum before, so I apologize in advance for that. I encoded my avi file using TMPGenc last night, but figured it was okay that it was converting it to a .mpg file. Once it completed I was reading the IFOedit guide and it said to locate my *.m2v file that TMPGenc made for me. TMPGenc only made an mpeg for me, so I was wondering if I have to redo the process but this time when TMPGenc asks me for the output name, if I should be changing it to .m2v instead of the standard mpg file name that it creates. Further, however I get to the point of burning it to dvd, do I need to convert it to a vob file at some point? And how do I do so? Any help is always appreciated
The m2v is the video portion of the mpg. Open tmpgenc again, cancel the wizard. go to file, mpeg tools, simple demux. Load your mpg, and demux it. You'll now have the m2v and mp2 files. You can load them both into something like ReJig for a simple autoplay dvd, or DVDLab for menus, chapters and such (this is authoring, the process of getting the .vob's and such).
