I've already encoded with mainconcept encoder, but I heard I need to use some other program to authorize it. Bare with me since I'm very new to this, but been reading up and some guides. TMPGenc Plus is just too slow so thats why I'm using Mainconcept Encoder. Well now I need some help authorizing it to dvd format with DVDLab. I tried the guide here at afterdawn but it really doesn't say much. Didn't really help me that much. So can someone please give me step by step instruction on how to do this with DVDLab Pro
Seijuro, you "author" a DVD project. That is use a tool which imports your MPEG-2 compliant movie and creates a menu (if desired). Open DVDLab, usually a pop-up menu will appear asking you what to do, select movie only if you want the movie to play automatically once the disc is inserted on the player or Simple movie to add a menu (I don't have the program right here so I try to remember names) If you want to have a menu, then select the latter. Go to the asset box (left lowermost corner usually) and import the encoded mpeg movie. If your movie is not demuxed (that is split in two files, one of audio and video) DVDLab will ask to do it, let it so. Drag the movie file (mpv or mp2 extension) to the movie 1 tab. If you right click on the movie strip you'll be able to select chapters. After that, drag the audio file (mpa extension) to the same movie 1 tab. Then go to the menu tab. You can there select a background. Either one of the samples DVDLab has, or one of your own (jpg picture for instance). You can there place a text box for selecting the movie or whatever you choose. Once finished, press compile and if any errors are present the program will pinpoint them. If everything is OK the project will compile at your desired folder and if you wish can even burn it. the menu part is where I have no clue How exactly do I import the background. THere is import menu but thats for PSD files
To import the background go to the asset box (usually left lowermost corner) first. Default is for movies and audio files, but if you notice there are other tabs with still images, buttons and more stuff there (just browse thru them). When you go to still images there are several pictures that DVDLab Pro has but you can open and import (like you did with movies) the picture you like. Once your file is imported it'll appear with the other pictures. Just select it and drag it to the menu tab. when you release it, automatically will shape up to the dimension of the menu (there can be distorsions though). Have you checked the manual by the way?
actually I missed the message you post with the manual. I read the top part but I didn't read the whole message lol. So after being stuck I read it again and saw the link to the manual and went through it. It was really helpful. I compile my movie but when I put it in my dvd player..there were no audio. The menu and video was all there but no audio. I am sure I imported the mpa audio file. Also I tried import some music into the asset window but it didn't show up. What format do these music got to be in? I wanted to import a mp3 music file.
It's usually a good idea to try the projects on a DVDRW first, and prior to that with a pc player such as WinDVD or PowerDVD It's suggested not to use MP3 if possible because it's not a 100% dvd compliant format If you have problems with audio try taking the audio away with VirtualDub and importing it to DVDLab Pro

I've got it now I just use audio converter to convert it to PCM format. I think thats the format dvd can read. It worked when I imported it my menu. Problem is the kbps is really high around 1530 kbps. The kbps for the mpa audio that I extracted from the movie was only 224kbps I believe and my movie is 5390 kbps. I mean average bitrate. I think I'm supposed to compress it, but I'm not sure how to do or which program to use for that
I just compile another one and tried playing it with PowerDVD. Theres audio this time but its not sychronize with the video
If Audio and Video are out of sync, rebootjim the other day explained me to use a program called PVAStrumento to do the demuxing (that is splitting the audio and video into two different streams) since it keeps audio and video synchronized. I don't recall the website for d/l but google for it. By the way, DVD authoring is a long process with many unsatisfactory experiments until you make something more or less decent ;-)
Yeah I noticed it's a long proces, but at least now I'm more familiar with the interface now, since I was experimenting with the menus and other stuff. I used Mainconcept Encoder to demux it. Well actually I just use it to encode, but I set it to Elemen. Video and Audio in the Stream Type section. I think thats probably it. I'm going to try and encode it again but this time I'm just going to leave it at Program (Video+Audio)in the Stream Type section.
