Hello, I can burn avi to dvd+r using nero, but it will not recognize the disc as a movie when I go to play it in my ps2. It will play on the computer though. any help here would be appreciated, thanks

Is the media readable by your PS2 (which is modchipped, I assume)?
For eexample, old PSX couldn't read CD-RWs.

yes, they are memorex dvd+r's and I've gotten another backup movie to play on the ps2, but it was burned by dvd copy 3. This however takes 3-4 hours for some reason and slows down my computer greatly. I have swap magic discs which I use for Ps2 games, but they have no effect for movies.

Hey sammy004, try using nero vision express, add your avi video files and burn it to dvd. It will transcode the files so your dvd player should be able to play it. takes over 2 hours, but it worked for me.
